Ghost Vase: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

$15.00

Glass flower vase; made out of recycled glass container decoupaged with hand-painted scene from the ghost story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

A little bit of ghost story lore...

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

Short story by Washington Irving (summary)

In the eerie village of Sleepy Hollow, Ichabod Crane, a nervous schoolteacher, is drawn to the enchanting Katrina Van Tassel. As he competes for her affection against the brash Brom Bones, Ichabod becomes increasingly haunted by the legend of the Headless Horseman, a vengeful spirit said to roam the dark woods, searching for his lost head.

One fateful night, after a spirited gathering, Ichabod rides home alone. Suddenly, a fearsome figure on a black steed gallops intimidatingly toward him. In a panic, Ichabod flees, but the Horseman pursues relentlessly.

The next day, Ichabod vanishes, leaving only whispers of his encounter and the chilling tale of the Headless Horseman, a reminder that some legends are rooted in terrifying truth.
