Who we are

About Little Lore Bits:

Little Lore Bits started as an idea about creating wearable art that would share stories from the past. This was sparked by a visit to The Morgan Library & Museum in Manhattan and seeing their amazing exhibit of ancient seals. I wanted to create tiny art pieces that held meaningful images imbued with history and stories.

The first projects were small pendants made from impressions of wildflowers found in Brooklyn tree pits, Shephard Purse and Nightshade flowers, and the folklore history I found out about those beautiful, teeny-tiny, flowers.

The catalog of inventory for Little Lore Bits continues to grow in types of folklore and types of objects created. Come visit regularly to see our latest creations–they are all one-of-a-kind so act fast to get the one you love! Although, if you do see something you love that is out-of-stock, message me and I’d be happy to make you something similar.

Based in Brooklyn, NY, we can be found online or at local maker’s markets, check out the Shop in Person page to see where you can come see us in real life!

A little about me:

Hi! My name is Erin Hurst, I am the artist behind Little Lore Bits. I’ve always been drawn to stories. Humans understand ourselves and the world around us through the stories we hear and the stories we tell.

My love of crafting started as far back as I can remember, I loved to get lost in creating. I’d sit in the basement and tinker away with paint and glue and glitter and anything I could get my hands on.

It was at an exhibit at The Morgan Library and Museum in 2018 that I was struck with the inspiration to put big stories into little bits that could be worn or carried. And so Little Lore Bits was born.
